Legoland Review
Here are my thoughts on Legoland. I hope you find them helpful and remember to contact me for a great price on Legoland either by itself or as part of a package!
1. The rides are great! They have a nice variety of rides that are perfect for their target age range (2-12). I loved the classic wood coaster, the Coastersaurus. Bigger adults may not be able to ride this one. The only coaster that may give you a headache is the Flying School. The Dragon is a unique ride that goes through a castle full of Legos before the thrill ride starts. Lego junkies will love it!
2. The Duplo Village has a ton of things for toddlers to do. If you have older kids, there isn't anything for them to do here so this is one of the few places that groups may need to separate if they have a wide age range of kids. The other place is Lego City.
3. The Driving School is specific about their age ranges so check them before waiting in line. Even if there is no wait, it will still take a while for the kids to finish this attraction. They have to watch a short video before getting in the cars. The optional license is $15. I'm not sure if the Jr. Driving School has the video as well.
4. The water show was great! The kids will love the story and the adults will appreciate the tricks done with various water sports. If you don't want to get wet, don't sit in range of the cannon on the ship.
5. Cypress Gardens closes at 4:30 so be sure to walk the trail earlier.
6. Prices are higher for food at Capt. Blackbeard's than at Castle Burger but you get to sit and watch the alligators and turtles. (Adult meal $10, kids meal $6). There is a variety of places to eat and everything looked really good! Water is $2.50. Prices aren't as bad as other places but don't expect fast food prices.
7. Miniland-I thought this would be boring, something to just walk through quickly. This was amazing! Animation and lights throughout the exhibits! Be sure to see the shuttle when it finishes its 10 minute countdown. Take time to check Miniland out!
8. The kids loved the theater. The movies aren't very long and they're 4D. The animation with the Legos was pretty cool. I recommend catching one of these.
9. Imagination Zone-This allows the kids to build and race cars. I thought this wouldn't interest the kids very much but I had to drag them out of there! The kids loved building with the Legos.
10. The Big Shop gets crowded at closing-thought you might like the warning. The only place I saw to get loose bricks was at the Factory. Mini figures can be fount in the Minifigure Market. No special pricing here and you can't use or accrue VIP Points.
We had a great time and I recommend spending a day here with your kids. Teenagers may not like it so much unless they're Lego fanatics. I love the fact that kids 48" can ride everything and 42" just needs an adult with them. The park itself was clean with shade trees and lush vegetation everywhere. I love that we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves and that there were things for everyone to do everywhere. This means that the toddlers don't have to stand around bored while the big kids go on rides. There should be something nearby for them. This is a park that grandparents will enjoy as much as the rest of the family.
